Dr. Elmann grew up in Brooklyn and trained at the highest level in the country — then came back. He wanted the people in his borough to have access to world-class retina care without having to leave. He is one of a very small number of fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeons based in Brooklyn.

 

TRAINING

 

BA-MD at SUNY Downstate, inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. Ophthalmology residency at SUNY — Chief Resident, EC Lazzaro Teaching Award. Vitreoretinal fellowship at the National Retina Institute under Dr. Bert M. Glaser.

 

RESEARCH & TEACHING

 

Assistant professor at St. John's University. Published researcher. National and international presentations. Focus: retinal therapeutics, laser photocoagulation, diabetic eye disease.
